PLEXIGLAS® Films


PLEXIGLAS® films are made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and contain polybutyl acrylate (PBA) as an impact modifier.


The films are available with different levels of UV absorbers and offer the following properties:

  • Weather-resistant
  • UV-absorbing
  • Scratch-resistant (pencil hardness up to 2H)
  • Perfectly colorless
  • Good thermoformability
  • Excellent printability (screen, digital, gravure, and flexographic printing)

Key Properties

PLEXIGLAS® films are frequently chosen because they:

  • offer light transmission of up to approximately 92%,
  • provide long-term UV and weather resistance,
  • exhibit excellent resistance to yellowing,
  • feature a hard, scratch-resistant surface,
  • are easy to thermoform and print,
  • provide good chemical resistance in many applications,
  • are available in transparent, opaque, and colored grades.
